大山淳（おおやま・あつし）

　北海道夕張市出身。中学時代にビートルズに出会い、高校時代には友人たちと組んだバンドでギターを演奏し始める。大学でドラムに転向、いくつものバンドに所属し音楽浸けの日々を送り、大学卒業後に本格的にプロドラマーの道を選択。
　ひとつのジャンルに留まらない豊かな音楽性で、ロック、ジャズ、ファンク、ゴスペルなど多彩な音楽活動を展開し、これまでにも数多くのミュージシャンやシンガーと共演、コンサートやレコーディングに関わっている。今や、北海道のドラム界の重鎮的存在であり、信望も篤い。
また演奏活動のほか、「ヤマハ・ポピュラー・ミュージック・スクール」及び「札幌ビジュアルアーツ専門学校」でドラムの講師を長年務めており、 数多くの生徒を輩出している。
　自宅スタジオでもドラムレッスンを行なっており、小学校入学前のお子さん、小中高生、吹奏楽部や大学の音楽系サークル、専門学校生、社会人やリタイアされた方、もう一度ドラムを叩いてみたいという70代の方など、本当に幅広い年齢層の方々に、これまでの様々な経験に裏付けされた知識や技術による的確な指導を行っており、ひとりひとりのニーズに応えるその温かな人柄が、性別や年齢を越えて多くの好評を得ている。

Atsushi Oyama is a professional drummer whose career is built on his versatile artistry and warm, supportive approach to music. A man of deep Christian faith, he loves his family and finds his purpose in his work. His passion for music began in junior high after discovering The Beatles. He first picked up a guitar with a band in high school before finding his true passion for rhythm on the drums in college, eventually dedicating himself to a full-time professional career.
Atsushi is known for his empathetic and adaptable playing style, which allows him to seamlessly support and elevate the music of countless rock, jazz, funk, and gospel artists on both stage and in the studio. His deep musicality is matched by his rare talent for teaching. As a longtime instructor at Yamaha, Sapporo Visual Arts College, and his private studio, he offers highly personalized guidance to students of all ages and skill levels, from preschoolers to retirees and amateurs to working professionals. His ability to connect with each person’s unique needs has earned him the deep trust and admiration of not only his students, but also the musicians he collaborates with.
